With the main goal of bringing a preventive culture against social and natural disasters, several institutions have joined to conduct the IV Conference about Environmental Education: A Look to Overall Social and Natural Risks Management, to take place from June, 21st, to June, 23rd, 2017, in the “Magdalena Seijas de López” auditorium, located in the west section of the UPEL-IPB.
This conference, made by member of the Natural Sciences Department, through the Environmental Education coordination and UPEL-IPB’s Education, Environment, and Development’s Master program, along with the Regional Directorate of Lara and “Huerto Los Ayamanes” Foundation, has the initiative of enhance knowledge through measures we must use during disasters in natural and urban areas.
During the event, there will be first aid workshops, community risks map elaboration, and preventive education against unexpected natural events. There will also be master classes, billboard presentations, cultural activities, and an evacuation drill, which will be made inside the university’s facilities.
For this activity there will be experienced professionals, who will talk about highly relevant topics for analysis and spread of this matter in an educational context, contributing to a background of preventive and conservationist culture to the community.
