Music is one of the great pleasures of life, allowing for a fully sensorial experience. In “Yo amo Barquisimeto” we want to show you the prodigies that will make a difference, not only because of their skills, but because of their good will, and that is why we have for you the Great Concert of Javier Sojo and Mafer Bandola.
The concert will be held at Los Abogados avenue, between 9 and 10 streets, at the Colegio de Abogados and “Charles Chaplin Movie Club” auditorium, on June, 3th, at 5:00 pm. The entrance fee will help to remodel this auditorium, which has been an alternative for Barquisimeto’s cinema.
Two of Lara’s music prodigies will take care of embellishing the afternoon: the first one will be Javier Sojo, an eternal percussion lover, who has been member of several musical projects known for their versatility, and range from vocal polyphony groups, going through trios with flamenco, jazz, and Venezuelan music influences, and is now part of a group called “Nueva Segovia”, where Argentinean instruments, like “cajón”, “redoblante”, and “platillos are used.
The second prodigy is María Fernanda Gonzáles, who has taken the bandola further from our frontiers. The musician has been part of the National Network of Youth and Children Orchestras of Venezuela since she was 12, by playing the violin, but has never left aside her passion for the bandola, which is her favorite instrument, to the point it made her known around the world as “Mafer Bandola”.
